SPEAK (Speech Therapy)

Speech Therapy in the natural environment has been a passion of mine for now over 10 years. I’ve gained so much experience working with children ages birth-five for speech therapy and love this field and seeing the children find their voices.

I believe in a whole child approach and have seen great progress with this approach. It’s important to me to treat each family with respect and compassion.

Incorporating caregivers into my  therapy sessions is important to me to see the best results. I also believe in early intervention and that’s why I love this early age group so much.

During the development of birth-three the brain is like a sponge. Children are developing and learning new skills everyday. The sooner you start therapy the better.

It can have a positive impact on their overall development as well as lessen the chance the child may need additional services as they get into the school system.

Incorporating the parents into therapy sessions is also important because it allows the parent to participate with their child as well as carry over any activities you have recommended. When a parent is able to use skills used in therapy within their natural daily routine, they are more likely to follow through.

It also allows the child to have many repetitions throughout the day in their natural environment which makes learning capable.

My passion and expertise is in the areas of articulation and phonological disorders, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, and feeding and swallowing disorders. In speech therapy I have experience treating the following delays/disorders below:
