Vegetarian Pizza Recipe & Gluten Free Pizza Crusts

Going gluten free has it’s challenges but once you get past the initial start of it then you start to feel like a pro. One of the things my family had difficulty with during this transition was finding a gluten free pizza crust we really enjoyed.

We really do like the Bob’s Red Mill pizza crust GF flour blend. I like that it comes with a pack of yeast already included. I also like to add my own seasonings like nutritonal yeast, garlic powder, basil, and pepper when making it.

On nights where I just want to pull something out of the freezer and pop it in the oven we enjoy the Caulipower Brand cauliflower pizza crust. It’s yummy and cooks pretty quickly.

It also stays together and doesn’t crumble easy. Makes for a yummy vegetarian pizza recipe.

Bases For Vegetarian Pizza  Recipe

If you use the caulipower brand pizza crust, it comes with two crusts in the package. I love to make different types and I usually make two pizzas for the four of us.

It’s plenty and sometimes we have raw veggies or a salad with it. Here are some bases you can use:

  • Regular pizza sauce
  • Marinara sauce
  • Alfredo sauce (Whole foods has a great vegan alfredo sauce made from cashews)
  • Pesto base (process pinenuts, garlic cloves, spinach, basil, and olive oil (or water if oil free)
  • Tesse Maes Dairy Free Salad Dressing (we like classic or creamy ranch)
  • Olive Oil and crushed or finally chopped garlic cloves

Cheese Toppings For Vegetarian Pizza Recipe

  • Vegan Cheese (we love So Delicious Brand or Follow Your Heart)
  • Nutritional Yeast (yummy replacement for cheese)
  • No cheese and just do extra sauce and veggies (you really won’t miss all the cheese. Promise)
  • goat cheese

Ingredients Needed For Vegetarian Pizza Recipe

1 package of CauliPower pizza crust (there are two crusts in package/found  at Harris Teeter, Publix, Whole Foods)

2-3 tbsp Tessa Maes creamy ranch dressing (found in produce section at most grocery stores)

1 stalk celery chopped

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)

½ head of chopped cauliflower (cut up in small pieces)

Buffalo Hot sauce (amount depends on how hot you like it. I just drizzled over the cooked cauliflower

1 cup So Delicious dairy free mozzarella cheese (more or less depending on how much you prefer)

Directions

Chop cauliflower into small pieces.

Drizzle some water or olive oil and toss until pieces are lightly coated. I sprinkled with garlic powder and nutritional yeast.

Place on a pan and into the oven on 400 until tender but not soft. Still needs to have a little crunch to it. The Air Fryer works perfect for this too!

Chop celery into bite size pieces.

Once cauliflower is done, take out of the oven and toss with buffalo sauce. Set aside.

Layering the Pizza

Take cauliflower crust out of the package.

Spread dairy free ranch dressing over pizza crust. Top with cheese of choice, celery, and then cauliflower. Place in the oven and bake until done.

Since it came with two pizza crusts, we made one with the cauliflower and then a plain cheese one. The cheese pizza was dairy free cheese, hemp seeds, and nutritional yeast.

We served with a salad and this is how you make a super quick meal that the whole family likes! Love a good pizza night!
